Subject: RE: Cat 5e junction box?

Central Nebraska

Red Whiskers - 1/6/2017 13:57 Do they make Cat 5e junction boxes for more than 2 cables? I would like to have one for 4. Is there any reason I can't just use a euro style connector? Do I just have to get a patch panel?

As other posters have said we need to know what you are trying to accomplish.  Ethernet cabling must be "home run" cabling where every cable goes back to the switch.  The only way a single cable can be used for multiple devices is if you use a switch to manage the connections.  There is no reason that you can't put four home run cables into a box, home run all the cables back to the switch, and use a keystone face plate to terminate the four cable in individually.  Or you just run 1 cable and use a switch in the office/remote location to add additional ports.
