Might be more than you are looking for but look up the Nernst equation to understand the effect of temperature on cell potential or voltage. Doing a quick calculation of voltage using the equation you get about a 17% drop in voltage with the temperature at -10 degrees F vs. 77 degrees F. We all experience this every time we try starting an engine on a cold morning. Add increased friction from cold metal, fluids, etc and we end up with even more demand on the battery.
