I do not have a DJI Phantom 3, I have a 2. I was telling a friend who does have a 3 to check the number of satellites before attempting flight. They asked "where" they would see that info. I believe they are using iPad to view real time flight.

So, on my "2" the # of satellites shows up in the upper RH corner of my monitor. I believe I always wait for a minimum of 7 sats to show before takeoff. Where does (or does it?) a "3" show it's # of sats on an iPhone or iPad? I'll pass this info along.
