Central Nebraska

I've got a 9 month old black lab puppy and a 4 year old mutt.  The lab likes to chew (don't they all)!  Can anyone give me some recommendations on good durable chew toys?  We have a few Kong toys and they hold up pretty good but their selection is so big I don't know where to start for additional ones.

The lab can devour a 12" rawhide chew stick in an hour or two.  The mutt likes the Kong toys filled with peanut butter.  Everything else he lets the lab have.

I like Chuck It! products. My border collie isn't such a chewer, but he loves his balls. One of his chuck it balls got baled up in a round bale, turned up the following summer slightly out of round and a bit faded in color, but none the worse for wear, he still has it 2 or 3 years later. They have wide variety of doggie items.

I have 2 heeler/God only knows and they will and do chew on anything they can get their teeth on. Yes, on, it they can't get their teeth around it the chew on it. Sticks, rocks, house, shop, then know no bounds. They have chew toys and balls laying in the yard but will play with them only while I am out with them. I get on the 4 wheeler nearly every day and they run with me for 2 to 3 miles around the farm

When we milked and had a Blue Healers, they loved old milk hoses, and would get in a tug of war with them. They did last a long time. Have a Border Collie now and since the cows are gone , he herds Cats

Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS

We had a small dog (Sheltie) and my wife bought used baby toys at yard sales for it. Cheap enough that you didn't mind them being destroyed. The dog especially liked anything with a squeaker in it. Might not work with a bigger dog.

We stood our christmas tree up this afternoon and the 7 month old Cardigan Corgi pup brought us a small branch while we were having supper.

Not sure she will get the rest of it for a few more weeks, it is now protected from dogs.

The cover on my grill and the cable line going into house were my last lab puppies favorite things no matter what chew toys we had out. I guess I am a glutton for punishment as there will be a new black lab puppy showing up here mid January.

The Kong filled with real peanut butter works great, they will chew and lick for hours, plus the peanut butter will shine their coat up like a new car.

Our dog loves old shoes. They last a long time and with no cost. We have trained him to leave our good shoes alone although sometimes he gives us a hint that we need a new pair and he would like our old pair.

Our dogs have a special affinity for dog pillows and extension cords. The heavier and newer the better. All other toys end up in a pile that occasionally gets looked at.

And they know when they are in trouble!  My one dog got a hold of my glasses (my fault for letting them within his reach).  I walked in the house and he greets me with his usual exuberance.  I see something on the floor and say out loud "What is this?"  I mean, I didn't yell or anything because it didn't register yet what I was looking at.  As soon as I said it his tail went down and he went over and cowered in his dog bed.  He knew,  that little SOB knew..........!

Antlers & Kong plastic bones seem to be favorites for our pups. The one shaped like an antler was real popular & has lasted a long time.

They like bully sticks as a treat, but the spaniel gets through them quickly. They also stink, so be careful about letting them have them in the house. The odor of dog saliva and dried bull cock don't make dinner very appetizing!

+1 Our last dog loved my old work boots. Maybe she liked the smell of manure on them. The dog before liked to bring in a corn stalk with the ear attached every once in a while after coming with me checking corn in the field. He also liked dragging John Deere parts around when JD started putting them in plastic bags (easy to get a grip on). I quickly learned to put them out of sight and reach.

Our Aussie chews up any toy in a short time. He loves to play ball a regular tennis ball will last quite a while, but the ones they sell for dogs don't last anytime at all.

If I leave the wife's dog alone with a Kong ball, it will be shredded in short order. He love to play ball, he will literally (and I'm mean literally literally) run himself to death if allowed. If you don't throw the ball and leave him alone with it, it will be shredded. He's a pit bull so strong jaw. A Kong will outlast everything else we have found. Tennis ball, 2 minutes. Football, maybe 5. Nerf type ball, 1st throw. The 2nd dog likes a big horse ball. He rolls that thing all over the lawn. I threw it 1 time for him, and now that's all he wants it for it to be thrown. He plays soccer with it, rolling and pushing it back to you at top speed.

Sounds like my daughters Rotweiler.
Plays soccer with a horse play ball but brings it back for you to kick or throw it for her to chase.
She is not gentle when she rams it back into your shins and will try to intercept any kick.
Does not seem to bother her when she takes a kicked ball and stops it with her head.

And she will keep at it until she drops if we do not take the ball away for a time out.

Michigan.
Not the cheapest, but they live up to the claims and warranty.
Our Malinois destroys Kong balls, and Kong toys inside of a week or so.
It took him almost a year to trash the Goughnut.
