Subject: A little different

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
While doing some boring tilling this fall, I got a call from an unknown number which I usually just blow off. I was bored so I answered it. The pitch was that I had won a big prized on Publishers Clearing House. I kept the guy going for a while and played dumb farmer which is not hard to do.

I told him winning was very timely because I had just purchased a pair of tractor rear tires. I asked him if he had priced them lately? Long pause.

He said a couple of guys were going to deliver the check to me and escort me to my bank. I said "Great but I was hoping to meet Ed McMahon". Again a long pause.

He then asked me how far to the nearest Wal-Mart store. I said 20 miles. He asked if I had heard of Western Union. I assume that the pitch to send some money via Western Union was coming up. I cut him off and said Yes, that is one of my favorite songs out of the 60's and was done by the Five Americans. Again a long pause.

He said he would call me later that night which he did. I blew him off right away as I was in the middle of a tire problem. Never heard from him again.
