Gotcha. If you really feel your hyd. system is working properly, (ie. no internal high pressure leaks) you have several options. You should check for voltage drop on your battery cables. If you have more than one volt of drop, replace your battery cables. If you still have two six volt batteries, change it to two 12 volts batteries. This will require new battery cables. Use group 31 truck batteries if you want to save money on batteries. You can buy the gear reduction type starters for these tractors. They help with cranking speed as well.

You could try taking your aluminum hyd. pump coupler off, (there are two halves) and see how well it cranks that way. If it is considerably better, you could try wiggling the steering wheel back and forth while cranking. This should relieve some of the hyd. pressure while cranking. Or you could put a manual destroke kit in it. That will prevent your hyd. pump from building any kind of pressure. If your hyd. pump is loading up very much while cranking, you probably have an internal high pressure leak.
