Subject: RE: Pickups and Farmers

West Central IL

Most that are around here are in the 25-30 year old range, drive a new pickup and still live at home.  Some are finding out that they can't afford the truck and a house now.  I did have a brand new ford ranger, well, it was a year old hold over back in the early '00's.  I was 20, still lived at home, paid cash for it.  16 years later my vehicle is now an '05 Expedition, but the wife also has a 2010 Edge which she paid for.  Getting a reality check on the cost of living sets a lot of these young ones straight.  But, some get lucky enough and get a good off farm job and can keep up their lifestyle, which is fine too.  I just chose to stick it out farming, cause that's what I like.
