East Central, IA | Anyone who sells bulls for a living should give you your money back less salvage if they are at all ethical. If it was me, I would feel bad enough to try to do a little something to make up for your loss of a calf crop. However, I think you bear some of the blame. If you go from July? to December and not notice any cows cycling, then something is wrong. I am a one man show also with an off farm job and my cows are often not close to home, so I feel your pain there. However, if you can't be around enough to protect your investment, then this isn't the last crisis or train wreck that you will have. Not trying to rub salt in your wound, but this sounds like it's an expensive lesson. I bet we've all had them at one point or another. Like someone else said, put a good bull in now and make Fall calvers out of them. Might turn out to be something you like... | |
