Where do some folks get off with the idea that you're going to produce thousands of bushels of corn without some sort of forced heat drying system in place? Sure you might get away a year or three without drying but mother nature isn't nice every year. You folks aren't certainly just farming for a couple years, you're in it for the long haul aren't you? Piece together some used equipment. It pays for itself quickly. Then when you do have a problem you quick move it to a different bin or worse blend and dump it at the local elevator risking quality issues down the line. Do it right or don't do it all.
He could be just fine with the corn in his bins if he's had air on it the whole time. We've dried and stored a lot of 18-19% corn with just air but also full floors. Too many unknowns with the OP to really give a good answer. |
