Got to work on a NG line or two like that. They look like a top notch outfit, but there are also a lot of regulations those pipeline are under. Usually anything they do to the pipe is spelled out in those regulations.

Most times they will "jeep"(pass a electric current over that green coating) to make sure that there are no flaws in that coating. That is where pipe failure many times occur. On smaller pipelines they will bury anodes(sort of like big sacrificial hot water heater rods) or they can put a current on them to assist in corrosion control. This is why the coating is such a big deal and why if anyone nicks the coating at anytime, it should be reported.

Have they "pigged" it yet or water pressure tested it? Just wondering how much pressure they are actually going to run it at?
