Subject: Deciding on seed corn varietys. How do you do it?

Central MN
Trying to decide on which brands and which varietys to order/plant. How do you guys decide on them? Do you stick with your favorite company s? Would you not plant a certain number or variety if you know it's good and did the best on your farm because it cost too much? Do you look at test plot results online?(first, answer plot) are the only ones I know of. Would you choose off of their lists if they are new or odd brands or no one else in your area plants them but they are topping yield trials? Everything that did really good on my farm this year were alright but not on top of the yield trails online, so, how do you decide? Sorry it got so long.
