Pretty sure these folks don't get it. They would be the first to go in whatever 'new world order' they support. A little like gay folks supporting isis - just not going to end well.

Back to marketing. It looks like the election cycle is over and the media has been caught red handed trying to manipulate the results and even thinks it's their job to do so. What enterprising folks see is a propaganda tool looking for a "cause". Clearly this pipeline means nothing to the local tribes or just about anyone not involved with pipeline itself or the product being moved. Once it's in place, it's pretty much forgotten. I don't think there is anything special about this particular pipeline either except it may adversely affect the economics of certain businesses (trains maybe?). Protesters work cheap and the media is free. It's sort of funny that the protesters actually support 'the man' in this case.

It's like GM deciding it doesn't want to invest in developing new vehicles because it's cheaper to lobby congress to get anti-competitive regulations passed.

Bottom line is this represents another angle in the market that will work to some extent until the 'boy crying wolf' syndrome wears off.
