I did a trial on this for s couple years ago. Found that my early single crop beans didn't yield any differently from 100k to 160k. I found the double crop planted in tough wheat straw late in June or early July really suffered in yield unless I got the population to 130-140 k. My area here is a bit different than corn belt. I would suggest doing some trials of your own.
