Southwest Missouri | The ground I rent is full irrgated with aphs around 220. That ground doesn't cost double the inputs on seed fertilizer and chemicals. If you have Illinois dryland with 250 aphs those costs around double what my dryland cost is. My brother and I could put it on a ten year note and make it without something terrible going wrong. Maybe the better question is are we in 1982 and the average price of land is going to take 15 to 20 years to get back to there high? Or we have a better opportunity in 5 years to buy the same amount of ground for 30 to 40 percent less? | |
