Subject: RE: replacing 1962 electric cook top with propane fuel drop in range

Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

From the day we got married, we had electric cooktops of one sort or another. First, a new stand-alone stove in an apartment, then Grandma's original huge range when we lived in their old house. Then when we built, the electric company had a "deal" on a lower per kwh rate if the house was all electric. And thru all that, I said I would live long enough to have a gas cooktop. I learned to cook on gas and never really got the hang of doing a good job on electric. In 2007, we redid the kitchen and got my gas cooktop! Yay! The ovens are electric, and to the best of my memory, don't think we could have gotten a gas oven at the time at all. I don't really want a gas oven; the electric does a good job, and the self clean is a plus. A dual-fuel, gas over electric, is a great choice, and it sounds like you've got the prime spot for it.
