Like has been said, right now intel is making the better chips. Someday it'll swing the other way. Only big downside to intel is price.
My current PC is an old intel build (Ten years?) that's been on a 25% overclock since day one. If I were replacing I'd be going for the 6700k. Maybe after Christmas.
