Another great Ubiquity product is the omnidirectional PicoStation.

Installed high on your house & plugged into one of your router’s ports, it provides an access point that will cover (depending on obstructions) your whole yard.

Use another PicoStation at your shop, as a hard-wired client of the access point.
To get wi-fi in the shop, just add an airGateway to the PicoStation’s power box.
