Clark SD | Was hand picking some ears, to test the moisture. Came across a ear that 12 rows with 27 kernels per row. The kernels all looked like the ones found on a butt end of a ear (see first picture where i drew a circle). I hand shelled the ear and counted the kernels, then weighed them, then did the math and came up 48,822 kernels per 56 lb bu. corrected to 15% moisture. So it did try to make up yield when the kernel number was short.
