These images remind me of a discussion in animal nutrition at UWRF 35 years ago, and the instructor was Dr. Leland Wittwer........ runimants need fiber, but if it is handled too many times, ground, cut, etc., you no longer have fiber.  It really does pertain to soil..... Finding the optimum amount of tillage for each soil and situation is an art and science
