DDG's can be high in phosphorus. Usually depends on the phosphorus levels in the water used at the plant. If it is elevated plus the water the cattle are drinking has elevated phosphorus levels you end up with a calcium phosphorus imbalance. If you want to be safe have an independent nutritionist go over the samples. Don't use your feed and mineral supplier. If it is going to be out of wack it is a matter of adding calcium, which is good because the expensive part of mineral is phosphorus. It might be as simple as adding alfalfa, it is usually a good source of calcium. Or maybe just mixing in some straight calcium, which is extremely cheap to do. Feeding cows is usually the first to have the problems you will fight milk fever.
