Indiana | Does anybody have any knowledge of track machine robbing hydro-stat power? Traveling in 4th (road travel) you may have to stop and shift to third to get up medium hills on the road. Sometime even pulling off the edge of road you may have to shift down. Motor only drops 10 rpm, from 2100 rpm to 2090 rpm when hydro-stat level is moved from neutral position to full speed position. This does not sound right to me, but I had Case mechanic check it out and he said that is normal for track machines. He says that tracks pull so much harder than wheel machine is the reason why. Is he blowing me smoke or what? If it pulls that much harder think how much extra hp and fuel I'm using just for movement in the field. My wheeled 8010 does not preform that way at all on the road. |
