Subject: It's actually La Nina.. like the start to 2011..

Remember the fall of 2010?  no big deal.. but moisture from the gulf was being shunted North.. as it CONTINUED (what happens this time..??) Then it BECAME a BIG DEAL as the Drought in Texas.. well.. we all remember what happened.. flip side the Missouri River basin flooded..

aka.. What precipitation that normally fell in Texas or the South West was shunted north into the Missouri river basin..  RIGHT NOW!!  We are seeing that again.. it's bone dry.. wind howling.. and approaching 100 degrees IN OCTOBER?!?

.. and yet the moisture is CONTINUING to fall.. again.. in places that do not need it...  to our North and East..

So this is CLASSIC La Nina...  watch the video.. the first link.. that map of "what to expect" again produced back in May..???  is WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW!!

.. the only question is HOW LONG does it continue?

Flash in the pan... or here to stay..for awhile???

most are saying.. "ah it will pass.."  and it may...

...

..
.

or it may not?

GOLLY RIGHT NOW.. 2 pm Sunday afternoon.. Dalhart Tx is 95 degrees.. 25 mph winds with teens for humidity.. and it's the MIDDLE OF OCTOBER!!!

They actually COULD hit 100 later today..  and we're trying to establsh a WHEAT STAND in These conditions..!!!!

Maybe it rains next week... who knows?

and yes it's somewhat like this transistion from warm and windy.. to cool and wet.. every fall but golly... that's why it's such a critical time for stand establishment..  some of these hot rod high yielding varieties DO NOT.. handle Cold stress well with poor stand establishment...

.. btdt.

later.
