28 here, same story for a long time. Just out of the blue I messaged an old crush from high school and we've now been dating for 7 months. She's a city girl and always wants to come ride in the tractor with me. Couldn't have picked a better one.
Like another poster said, it's all dumb luck.
One piece of advice I will give (yet never heeded myself) get out of your comfort zone. Girls won't be in yours, so you have to get in theirs. Or hit the lottery and they'll be lining up.
