Michigan.
The drain flys can be a royal pain in the butt.

I found that making a batch of spaghetti and dumping the boiling water in the sink, kills the eggs as well as drain cleaner and bleach, without messing with the septic.

You have to get inside their egg laying/Hatch cycle though, so it takes 3-4 times a week.

I brought home a Pineapple the other day, and got a big hatch out of it...GRRRRRR!!!

The Vinegar trap works for us just fine. No Saran wrap.

If they don't clear out quick enough, I'll break out the Demon WP and sp[ritz the back splash and counter, then clean the counter in the morning.
It gets them every time.
