I've been trying to download a vimeo video and each site that promises to either download the video or promises to show how to do it has been a failure.

One site downloaded an mp4 file but it doesn't play on anything I have. 

Not on handbrake, Pinnacle, windows media player, vlc, windows movie maker, jet movie, etc.

I'm always reluctant to download free programs that might be filled with malware or junk and it's gotten to the point that almost everything is anymore.
