Subject: RE: Funeral planning what to expect?

West Texas

We had bought cometary plots many years ago and after a few years, they called us and stated that the lots we had bought had been mis-surveyed and we needed to come by at our convenience and select different ones. Yes, they had buried someone else in our lots. We did go and select new lots. Then on to 2011 and my oldest son dies due to complications of diabetes. He had not made any preparations so we asked if we could get 3 lots together and just pay for one and let them have the other two back. Their first reply was that the prices had gone way up since we bought our lots and we would have to pay the difference. I reminded them that they had buried someone else in our original lots and the was no compensation when they wanted to change. They had a back room meeting and after about 20 minutes, decided that there would be no additional charge. We went to the funeral home  about a week later and made arrangements for our own funerals. Didn't think about taking the kids but did let them know that we had already made all of the arrangement except for the opening and closing of the grave.
