Subject: RE: Selling price: corn for deer hunters?

Deer corn is big business here and lots of competition that keep prices in check. Some of the big hunting clubs call around at the beginning of the season and price shop. I get $10 per 100# bag. $5 per bushel in bulk bags, or $4 per bushel bulk in a wagon. It's fairly easy to bag corn out of the back of a dump truck with a grain shoot. Some hunters dump out piles of corn but most use mechanical feeders and don't necessarily need it cleaned but don't want any large chunks of cob. I always laugh at the expense and effort hunters go to for a deer when I could sell them beef cheaper and it taste better. Even though there are plenty of crops around for the deer to eat I have hunters tell me with everyone baiting if you didn't bait your property the deer wouldn't hang around.
