I copied and pasted from the Iowa DNR. I even provided a link, so you can read for yourself.
Don't take my word for it - read it yourself. After reading the link, if you still have questions, call up DNR and ask them yourself for clarification. After all, it is your government.
Frankly, I would not take tires to a landfill. I would try to recycle them if I could. But that is me.
