Durum was the hot market last winter right ?
Farmers usually do what farmers do best.
Durum seed was REALLY hot, if you grow seed you made a killing = more acres planted
Exports were a big driver last year.
Exports of are less then half y-o-y currently.

The other mega hot market of last winter were Pea and Lentils. Never in my life have a heard so many folks talk about a very minor crop,,, guess what,,, its been flushed right down the toilet.

There is only one market left that has NOT been flushed and that WILL do a super duper hydra flush roughly 1 year from today.

Durum market was hot 2 years ago $17 bushel. This year it was $2over hrsw. But that didn't move acres as we are a durum area anyways. Lentils are still historically decent. 21cents per lb which is still amoney maker. But too much root rot up here now lots of guys gonna quit lentils or scale way back.
