| If your Ipad has cell signal I believe that would work. However, in my experience with IOS and Android Phones I have had better luck using an external third party bluetooth device. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to setup so that after you hook them up once it stays connected until you disconnect them. It seems to update faster and more accurately. This is what I use.
