You can't really see much of the plane, beyond a blur on the screen followed by an explosion and fire ball. I'm surprised you have never seen it before as it was played 100's if not 1000's of times in the days on news channels after the attacks. I'm in Canada but just across the border from Detroit so we can all the American networks as well. It's definitely not something that was 'hidden" from the public. If the same thing were to happen today I suspect there'd be all kinds of cell phone videos, dash cams etc, only because those devices are so common today. Remember back in 2001 cell phones with high quality cameras weren't widely used by the public.( were they even on the market back then?)
