I'd suggest that you consider a bigger home. Not extravagant or overly large but you don't want to be messing with maintaining your current model when you get older. We (I before we were married) bought a 2,000 square foot ranch and added on 660 more 8 years later as our family expanded. It has served us well and will be a fine size as we enter late summer of our lives. Just MHO. A home is more than a building but it is also to serve you, not be demanding.
