IMO the type of ground makes a difference if I cut late or not sandy well drained ground will take a late cutting better than wet ground that heaves in the winter. Also the kind of winter we have which is unpredictable.
Impossible to tell when NOT to cut till next spring when failures show up. Was mine, I'd cut it as soon as you can get on it without rutting the ground and when a drying window opens.
I'd think there's plenty of time for some regrowth, that's very helpful.
