Michigan. | Purslane AKA "Mexican Parsley" or "Verdilagas".
Glyphosate will control it early in the season, but it spreads by seed(Billions of 'em) AND Rhizome.
Knock it back with round up, or hit it with the steel, and you're just spreading it.
Before I gave up on controlling it in the row middles, I got good control with spraying at 2qt ,and then again a couple weeks later hitting it with Gromoxene.
That's when I noticed that the stuff pushes out all the other weeds, so now I just mow and till to spread it intentionally.
It doesn't compete with our bushes as much as any cover crop, and is less Maint.
Some of our workers love the junk , and take home bushels of the stuff.
It's actually pretty good raw in a salad, and even better cooked, and mixed with beans and cojito cheese.
