| There are several test kits available. The short term one is set for several days and the long term one is 2-3 months. When the time is up, you seal up the test and send it it to be read.
If it is high, seal up all cracks etc. in the basement floor and walls,and the sump hole if you have one.
Several methods can be used to ventilate the area below the basement floor by sucking air from that area and exhausting it outside. The fan doesn't have to be on the side of the house, it just can't be in the living space. Mine is in the attic and the only thing you can see is a 12" long 4" PVC pipe through the roof.
