NW Ohio | I'm a bigger fan of Baytril. In my mind I think of Baytril as more of a "bug drug". I also think that multiple day treatments with Baytril will beat Draxxin every time. Draxxin is nice if you have one or two calves that are a little off and you want to hit them once and forget about them. But if I have some kind of breakout in the calf barn or with weaned calves I reach for Baytril. For example, if I was bringing in a group of calves (I raise mostly Holsteins) that I think are high risk for whatever reason I may give them a dose of Draxxin to help with the transition period they're under. But if I walk into the calf barn one day and half the calves won't drink I'd go with Baytril.
I'm sure there is a more scientific way to compare the two buy that's how I use them. | |
