Tomatoes and potatoes can only be grown every third or forth year or else your just going to get major disease. Just vegan/sustainability crowd propaganda aimed at the lowest demographic. The trick in lying is to target the most susceptible member's of society don't waist your time targeting the knowledgeable people

Cost per calories cheapest to most expansivene

tubers/grains
meat
fruit
vegetables

Beef is waaay cheaper then fruits and vegetables when you measure the nutrient content compared to the cost of production. Plus you can run animals on rangeland or cover crops and feed them waist products and food that people cant or wont eat.

Really being a vegan is only cheaper less/resource intensive if you just eat potatoes and grains. Common sense says a diet based on starch is pretty unhealthy.

We can produce much more food then we need right know, starvation is not due to lack of food its due to political reasons like in north korea and africa. We can all start eating potatoes and rice every day those countries are still going to starve. Kind of like how it doesn't matter how much water we save the Sahara is still going to have a water shortage.
