Maybe the guy used the $100,000 to build on farm fert storage, grain storage, tile, etc that had an ROI of 20% . Then used the $20,000 to help supplement a land payment.
Sure. I'm all for on farm grain storage, other infrastructure improvements, and buying land. There are countless ways to spend $100k, but no method is universal. That's why everyone gets to choose what to do with their own money.
