WC MN | We have had this field for a long time and its what we call tiger ****. Its so tight we did spread spent lime years ago and it did seem to mellow the soil a little but to me it didnt seem like enough. Wondering where I should get this Mg down to? Im thinking 20% atleast? I can use spent sugarbeet lime that is 22% calcium near by. I tiled this field last year 32" apart and it sure made a hell of a difference but you could still see in spots how it didnt want to drain through the soil profile well. Is bringing up Ca and lowering Mg the best thing to do for this field.
