Subject: Results of welding a z-bar, three years later

A close friend of mine bought a 9770 from our store about three years ago. I was going through it and it had cut quite a bit of rice and had wore a hole in the z-bar and the left hand separator rail and wore out the concaves. It was winter and we were slow and were expirimenting at the time with different options to combat wear and i asked him if he would be interested in being a Guinea pig for us. He gave me the ok, so I started in with the welder. I worked over the z-bar, the concaves and welded a piece of AR plate on the rail. Jump three years later and close to 5000 acres of rice. They pulled the rotor out to work on the right hand rail. He send me the pics of all my handy work. I could not believe my eyes!! A little work with the welder went a long way. Concaves look great, no hole in the rail or the z-bar. Just thought I would share for some other folks that may be combating some of these problems.
