Manitoba | Alopurinol has worked for me. No real flare ups and don't worry about diet too much. My previous Dr said it was just wear and tear arthritis. When he retired and I got new Dr he tested my uric acid levels and diagnosed gout. The long term damage to joints is a concern. My big toe joints can only bend up less then 45 deg from horizontal. My 85 yr old dad can bend his up to pretty well 90. I inherited it from my mom's side. | |
