Westport, IN | We bought one this year. We did 100 dozen ears in six hours with 5 adults working. This is picking to placing in the freezer. We will do 200 dozen by the end of the season. It easily cut several hours off of the day. Our washing was always the bottleneck of the operation. Also those who washed always complained of hurting backs, and no complaints this year.
We ran the ears through twice. Once before blanching and again after. Blanching loosens more silk that will come off in a second run through.
