| These belts can be a pain. Another John Deere flaw. If you are replacing the belt, I would cut it off and get it out of there. Then route your new belt up and go over the top of the pulley. Also you may have to twist the belt to a 45 degree angle to get it in between the shield and the pulley on the gear box. As long as there is clearance. Then the belt will probably get tight in the 5 o'clock position on the bottom cab side. Get you a young strong buck to get in the hopper with you to pull on the belt while you're holding the belt tight to the pulley with a pry bar while keeping that shielding in place. It can be done without taking the shielding off. | |
