If you're not ready for some of the other suggestions, you might try sound effect:
Make a clapper out of a couple nice & clean two-foot pieces of 2 x 4.
Use a hinge, bungee, etc. on one end.
Add hearing protection.
Watch your fingers.
It's a fun way to clear blackbird flocks out of windbreaks! :-)
Makes barn swallows mad as he__. :-)
Stand next to a building for amplification.
