| Big deal where he happens to be is what state it is in. If he's in Iowa he is way better off, if Illinois he will have a tougher time selling it. Illinois is messed up with property tax increases, etc. which is driving a lot of people to move across the river.
My Dad is a Realtor in Illinois...hard last couple years in that business.
Rule of thumb out here in central Iowa is your first offer is often your best, but that doesn't mean you can't negotiate. It's good to remind him that the tank is full and it's value(nothing says you can't pump it off and move it either).
Forget the realtor's commission, that you can't do anything about now that you listed it through them. Worry about the offer and what you have to have to be happy at the end of the day. | |
