Most likely the organization does not have current standing, unless someone was filing renewals each year.

Therefore the new bank should not have opened the account anyway.

Lady asking for copies of the bills is a new one.......never heard of that before.........and the amount of money would have likely kept the transactions below any radar.

Had you merely opened the account under your own name.........and kept track of the income/expenditures within your own tax return, you most likely would have had no problems........... except.......unless purchasing memorials for the deceased was not within the charitable function/stated purpose of the original organization.
