PROSPECT, TENNESSEE | Land around me is selling for outrageous prices... Lets just say, a few years ago the bank appraised a track of prime ag land, 70% flood plain 30% non flood plain, at 2300 an acre, which is way more than we paid 20 years ago, but.. the property adjacent to me, with same flood plain issue sold for right at 5000 an acre 2 years ago, but is now for sale for 6500 an acre.... 200+ acre tracts
I know there will never be anymore of it made, and none has ever sold for more than its worth..(to someone), but at this point I cant see it being a smart investment. | |
