Subject: Cover crops on seed corn fields

nebraska
I'll be destroying the male rows in seed fields starting in about a week and was thinking of spreading a cover out there at the same time. I want something inexpensive that'll provide some erosion control, ground cover post harvest and suppress some weeds. What would you seed and at what rate? I was thinking just rye to keep costs down and this won't be grazed.

Looks like guys have been doing this for several years now and was just wanting to hear others experiences and recommendations. Also, I did spray 1.5 quarts of Warrant at layby about a month ago, will this interfere with getting a stand?
