| Here (exact center of Iowa), 2014 and 2015 brought best yields of all time. Many corn fields went well over 220 which is unheard of in our heavy soils. Typically too much water keeps us from achieving the real top yields. For 2016, we have not had the saturated conditions that usually take 3 or 4 acres per 80, but we are averaging well above normal temperatures. My guess is we will be in the 180-190 range--not the 210+ average of last two years. | |
