Yes, my understanding is that the Yellow River has been levied and raised several meters (5-10 meters by some accounts) above the surrounding flats, all the way from Zhengzhou to the sea. So I don't see how the rain that fell on the N China plain last week can ever make it into the Yellow. Seems it will have to flow to the sea in smaller tributaries.
